Sunday Scripture

There is no place safer for us to put our hope and trust than in God’s hands. His plan are so big, so good, and always the best for us. I’ve been learning a lot lately that what I thought was my life’s plan, may be completely different if I listen to the Lord. But I’m also seeing that it’s going to be so much better than anything I could have picked for myself.

Hey y’all! Sorry today’s Sunday Scripture is going up a little late, I had an amazing morning trying a new church and I was so excited to go that I didn’t get this past together in time. But, I was definitely inspired after attending!

The church just  started a series on Jonah, and it is so good- really helping me to see the book different and get new lessons from it. The first of which is the goodness of God’s grace. Jonah deliberately runs from God’s direction when he is told where to go, but instead of extending wrath to Jonah, God gives him grace upon grace.

And so it is with us, God gives us grace upon grace each time we fall, and fail, and turn from the his calling. We always have a chance to turn back to him, run back to his arms & his plans. And what joy & comfort that is!

I am so excited for the return of “Sunday Scripture” this morning. To be honest, with my crazy travel schedule and commitments the past few weeks, I’ve been very distant from the Lord- lacking in quiet time and moments to soak in His message. But this week I’ve re-invigorated myself by diving back into His word and getting my “groove” back.

And that’s the amazing and beautiful thing about the Lord- His grace knows no limits. Even though my heart was distant and pushing him to the bottom of my priorities, He waited patiently for me. He knew that I was coming back to Him. He knew just what my heart would be aching for and needing in time with Him. And he gives me so much grace to cover it all.

I was so inspired by the verse above that it stopped me in my tracks! I absolutely love the blog, Sweet Blessings, for her precious printables and verses that somehow always hit me with whatever I am going through at the moment. The Lord always finds ways to reach us (even through blogs!) just when we need it 🙂

Happy Sunday friends and have a fabulous week!

I don’t think there is any better promise to start off this new year of “life” with than this one. I know that I can’t figure this out all on my own, but when I put my trust and faith in the Lord, He will move in ways that are beyond my imagination or hope.

Sunday Scripture + Thoughts

1 Samuel 16

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about shopping (but not in the way you think!) Between working in corporate retail and writing this blog, it’s all too easy to get caught up in the need to constantly have new. I’ve even found myself valuing my worth based on my outfit; and that’s when I knew things needed to change!

I love fashion, I love clothes, I love the thrill of a shopping find. There is nothing wrong with that at its core. But when these things become the benchmark I measure my worth against then things are out of whack. Because God doesn’t look at my outfit, he looks at my heart. Making a difference in this world, spreading love and hope is not tied to the clothes I am wearing but instead tied to the condition at my heart.

So I’m working on it. I’m reevaluating how I look at the “things” in my life (and my closet) and seeking to find the Lord first- above all else- and making sure that my heart is far more beautiful than my wardrobe.

Happy Sunday friends! May you be filled with the hope and love that this day brings!

I don’t think there is any verse more fitting for this time than these sweet words. As I start the craziest, busiest, most exciting, thrilling, challenging year of my life, I know that I must place my hope & trust in the Lord. When my eyes are on Him, and my heart is running after His voice, then I cannot fail. When we put our faith in the material things of the world, we face disappointment and failure. But when our hope is in Him, then amazing things happen (and failure in the outer-worldly sense isn’t one of them!) Friends, my prayer for you is that your heart is so full of God’s calling and truth that you simply cannot fail!

Y’all this has been the most empowering and invigorating weekend! The Junior League Cocktail Reception & Leadership Retreat were amazing, and I’m pinching myself that I get to serve with some of the most inspiring women in our community! I am so proud of all we accomplished this weekend and I can’t help but rejoice in this beautiful day that the Lord has made! I hope you are having a weekend of happy hearts too! XO

As I prepare today to walk in the Junior League’s fashion show, I am reminded that my beauty is not defined by this world’s standards, but by the Master of our universe! It always blows my mind when I think of the sin and guilt that I carry, that sometimes shames me and makes me see myself as less than beautiful, doesn’t taint the Lord’s view of my beauty. No matter what burdens I carry… He calls me beautiful one. Isn’t that the best thing you’ve ever heard?! What hope the Lord brings me and you!

Also, the happiest of birthdays to my wonderful and beautiful mamma! I love you and hope you have the best day ever!

(like mother like daughter don’t you think?!)

I love love love this verse! It’s so easy to focus on imperfections, but I think that God calls us to look for the best in others- because that is what he sees in us despite our flaws and sins. Our sweet Lord never looks at us and sees dirt, he only sees gold. Doesn’t that give you so much comfort friends?

I hope y’all have been having the best weekend! I’ve been enjoying this gorgeous weather and soaking up some time to catch-up on my personal life (does that make me sounds like a boring adult… #oopstruthisout).

I really love this verse, and think that it is kind of a “mantra” for me for the new year. Our attitude is such a powerful thing, and it really can be a light for others who need it most. Have you ever been around someone who is so positive that they draw people in and make those around them happier? I believe that we are called to be that kind of positive light to those around us. Now I know this isn’t always easy, because there are some days when I most definitely am not feeling bright, but “being the light” is a daily goal I strive for.

How do you share the light each day?

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend friends!

Sunday Scripture

I absolutely love this quote! Even though it is not a “scripture verse” per se, it sure challenges my heart like it is one. The concept of grace always humbles me in a way that no other word does. When I think of the sins that fill my life, and that our sweet Lord forgives every single one, how in the world can I withhold that same blessing from others?

Whenever I am tempted to hold a grudge, or hold onto anger, I remember the grace and forgiveness that I have been given and share that with others (often easier said than done- but so good for the soul).

I hope these words inspire you today- especially in the light of the celebration of Christmas that is coming in T-4 days! eek! Can’t wait to celebrate the true spirit of the season!!

Thanks for stopping by y’all!

I don’t think I can add many words to these, because they are so true and give me so much to be thankful for. Friends we don’t have to take on burdens alone, we have hope that can be put in Him who is so much bigger than us. His shoulders can take so much more if we let Him. Be thankful for this truth today!

Thanks for stopping by y’all!

I am reading the most amazing book in my bible study, “The Circle Maker.” This book is all about the power of prayer and really getting serious about your prayers to the Lord. It is filled with true stories of answered prayer and how to circle everything in your life with prayer. I am so encouraged to know that our sweet Lord hears it all- and loves us enough to answer. Be encouraged friends to know the He will never stop listening to you!

Enjoy some rest and relaxation this Sunday! xo

Well friends, it is the end of a great week! I’m excited to renew and recharge at church this morning and this verse has been on heart to share with y’all. Whenever I have moments of doubt and anxiety, I look to this verse and find so much joy and peace in it’s truth. Where ever you are in life right now, remember you are exactly where God wants you to be- and He is teaching you lessons as He leads you on a journey far greater than you could plan!
