Sharing the sweetest 48 hours in Charleston, SC along with plans to make it the best girl’s weekend!
Oh hooray y’all- the day is finally here to share my Charleston travel guide! AKA- how to have the best girl’s weekend in 48 hours 🙂
In March I traveled to Charleston, SC (my favorite city ever) to celebrate turning 30 with 7 of my best girlfriends (my favorite people ever)! It truly was a dream of a weekend and I was SO thankful that each of the women with busy lives, husbands, and babies took some time to come a celebrate this milestone with me. A few of my girls had never been to the city before, so we wanted the weekend to be a mix of old favorites & new favorites- so that there was a little something for everyone.
I figured the best way to start was so share our itinerary. My sweet bestie Asha was kind enough to take my ideas and turn them into an organized schedule- when you’ve got 8 girls running around it’s best to have a plan! 🙂 We got into town late Friday afternoon and left early Sunday morning so we had a LOT to pack into our trip- so here is how we made the most of it!
No trip can get started without some goodies! My sweet friend Kelly worked with me to create these koozies, and my dear friends at Teleties created these personalized hair tie sets for me & my girls!
And then my sweet girls spoiled me with fun decor, koozies, and celebratory swag!
We wanted a casual (& of course delish) meal to start off the weekend so we headed to Tavern & Table. Friends I cannot recommend this yummy restaurant enough! It sits on Shem Creek in Mt Pleasant and the decor is impeccable. The food is just as wonderful (as are the craft cocktails)! My personal favorites are the Blood Orange Margaritas & the Pimento Cheese w/ Bacon jam. Heaven y’all!
The next morning was BIRTHDAY morning! (How perfect was it the my actual birthday fell on a Saturday this year?!) After one too many Boomerangs with these balloons (gotta love girlfriends who get it) we headed out for a great day!
First stop was brunch at the Obstinate Daughter. I had heard so many great things about this restaurant and let me tell y’all – every expectation was surpassed! I am still dreaming about the gnocchi pancake I had (google it and get ready to DROOL!) 🙂
I love my squad so much!
Next it was time for some sightseeing in downtown! We decided that no agenda was the best agenda so we set off with fully charged phones to take pictures & soak in the gorgeous history that is Charleston! Of course we could not miss the famous pineapple fountain!
I love my Asha girl! We met the very first day of college and have been inseparable since!
Jen & Ash are my two best friends from high school! Actually Ashley and I met in 7th grade & I was just the MOH in her wedding 🙂 Jen turns 30 next month and we’re headed to NYC to celebrate! Love celebrating such special milestones with these ladies!
We highly recommend stopping by The Skinny Dip for Froze on the rooftop deck!
We might be a British girl band cover… but I love it nonetheless!
FUNNY STORY: So y’all know I’m obsessed with Southern Charm & all I wanted was to go to the Gentry Hotel & “cheers” with some Gentry bourbon! I mean, hello it’s my namesake! But when we got to the “hotel” it was boarded up and out of business- all that was left was this half-torn nameplate! Come to find out this season that JD is a cheat, scoundrel, and a total fraud. Oh well! Now I have this hilarious pouty picture to commemorate the experience!
For dinner that night we made reservations at Edmund’s Oast, and once again it was delicious! There is literally nothing bad on the menu!
We took this EXACT picture on my 20th (??) birthday so we just had to recreate it! So sweet! There are not enough words to describe how amazing of a friend this gal right here is.
Katie and I used to work together at HSN and though she’s since moved to Texas we have stayed great friends and love supporting each other!
Sheila and I lived together (with Asha) for 2 years in college and have become thick as thieves. I love her zest for life!
Steph, Angie, and I all worked at Payless together in Kansas. At the time all three of us were doing long-distance with our boyfriends & bonded over that. Now we are in Florida, Chicago, and LA but remain as close as can be & recently headed to LA to see Angie! It’s so cool to see how our friendships have evolved!
We ended the night DANCING away at Prohibition- it’s always the best time there!
I seriously cannot say enough great things about Charleston, or how special it was to have such sweet friends from literally all walks & stages of my life there to celebrate such a milestone with me. I am so thankful for each and every one of their friendships and treasure each of them! 30 is already off to the best start!
