Recently I had the super fun opportunity to travel down to Marco Island and stay at the Olde Marco Island Inn & Suites. Even though I’m from Florida, and have explored a lot of our sunshine filled cities, this was a part of the state that was new to me! Going in I wasn’t quite sure what the Island would be like, but I was blown away! From our quaint and beautiful inn, so the lovely beaches, to the lively town – there was so much to see and do! It truly felt like I was a world away from life… and now I’d like to escape reality and head down there again ASAP. 🙂 That’s the sign of a great vacation right?!
Let’s start with our beautiful accommodations shall we? Fun story, the Olde Marco Inn was actually the first inn on the island and they used to charge $1 a night to stay there- can you imagine?? Needless to say the property has been updated but the charm remains! Each “room” is actually a suite- ours had a master bedroom, a guest bedroom, 2 bathrooms, a living room, full kitchen, and porch. If you’re thinking it sounds heavenly- it was! 🙂 The staff still maintains that quaint family feel and they were SO accommodating to our late arrival and made us feel so welcome! We loved chatting with them about what to see and do on the island- they really helped us to make the most of our time there.
We loved drinking our coffee and reading our bibles out here in the morning! It was just so peaceful and relaxing!
Marco Island (the town)
Since this town was new to both of us (my bestie Asha joined me for the weekend) we were so excited to explore! Luckily we didn’t have to go too far to start the exploration… The Olde Marco Inn is right next to a darling row of shops and restaurants that make you feel like you’re strolling in Key West. You know I was loving all the color and cuteness!
We had breakfast here our final morning and it was SO good! My breakfast burrito had me wanting to lick the plate- there really is sunshine on every plate!
Cafe de Marco shares a parking lot with the Inn and we heard it was a great place to go for a nice seafood dinner. We didn’t make it there to eat but would definitely love to check it out next time!
On Saturday we wanted to spend the morning at the beach so we headed out to Tigertail which was the perfect choice!
Saturday night we headed to Quinn’s for dinner since it was right on the beach and we wanted to catch the sunset.
Y’all it was spectacular! When I see beauty like this I just can’t help but thank the Lord for giving us such goodness.
We were treated to quite the show on the beach! Fire dancers were such a fun addition to our night!
And that’s a wrap on our dream of a weekend! If you are looking for a great place to relax that also has a lot to do, put Marco Island on your list & make sure to see my friends at the Olde Marco Island Inn & Suites! It is the most perfect vacation spot and I can’t wait to get back!
