Travel with Me: St. Simons Island

Sharing the perfect girl’s getaway in St. Simons Island, GA!

If you’ve been around here for awhile than you may know that one of the most special trips I take each year is with my best girlfriends from college. Every year we pick a new city and pack our bags for a special weekend of catching up, fun, and lots of laughs & memories. This year our city of choice was the sweet island of St. Simons, Georgia – and what a darling town it was! I’ve got lots to share about our trip so grab your coffee and let’s hit the road!

We all got into town around dinnertime on Friday night. Since we knew it was going to be one giant gab-fest we opted for dinner in and our hosts Cherysh and Haley made the most delicious taco bar & jalapeño margaritas!! We ended up going around the table and each sharing what’s been going on in our lives- it took almost three hours (and a few more glasses of wine!) 🙂 So much fun to connect with these wonderful friends!

We love our hats from Rollins Apparel– they did such a good job! (not sponsored- we just loved them & I’ve had lots of questions on where they were from :))

After smoothie bowls for breakfast we headed over to the beach to enjoy the GORGEOUS weather! It was beyond beautiful there and so different from Florida beaches. Warning: the sun is super strong and I got burned after a few hours in the sun! Wear your sunscreen friends!

This coverup from Cabana Life was perfect for the weather.

After the beach we all cleaned up and headed out to do one of my favorite things: shop! There are so many adorable boutiques and shops in downtown St. Simons – there are no shortage of treasures to find friends!

We enjoyed a good old fashioned friend chicken dinner at the newest restaurant on the island, The Porch. It was yummy but I do have to warn y’all that it was heavy food- so definitely eat this after the beach, not before bikini time! ha.

Sunday morning we pulled it together for some sweet group pictures. We always cherish these trips so much and it was fun to have these special pictures as a reminder of our over 12 (!!) years of friendship!

Asha and Sheila were my roomies in college- what fun (& stories) we have!!

LOVE my girl Emily! Her sweet baby girl Gracie was one of the girls this weekend and she was truly a doll the whole time! Love being her auntie 🙂

I mean is she not the most precious girl in the world??

One more group selfie before brunch 🙂

We wrapped up our weekend with a yummy brunch at Coastal Kitchen– so good I basically licked my plate clean! haha.

Just three brunette besties 🙂 Love my girls Emily and Asha- two of the best people you will ever know!

And that’s a wrap on our sweet girlfriends weekend in St. Simons Island! It’s a quite coastal town that packs on the charm and will definitely leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed! If you have any questions about our trip or the area let me know 🙂 XO

It is so great you’ve stayed in touch with your college friends – and wonderful that one could bring along her baby! Really beautiful photos – you look like such a strong group of friends. And St Simons seems a wonderful place for a getaway – love the fact you mention he small shops and Brunch! I haven’t got a clue what you were doing with your arms in that photo outside the house lol! You will have to explain 😉 I thought it was some sort of sorority sign at first and then wondered if it was the size of the baby haha! Joanne x
