Girl Meets Bow 2019 Blog Resolutions

Sharing my heart for the blog in 2019 as well as my 2019 Blog Resolutions!

Pink Sweater || Plaid Scarf || Navy Fur Vest || Jeans (best ever!) || Riding Boots || Plaid Tote Bag

Friends it is UNREAL to me that we are already 10 days into the new year! Like, what?! I mentioned this in my IG stories last night but I am totally struggling to get back into a groove – somehow I’m still kind of thrown off from the whole holiday season/vacation. You may have noticed less posts this week- blame the lack of routine! ha. But I feel like I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things and I am really excited to follow up my “Word of the Year” post with some of my blog goals and “resolutions” for the new year!

I started this blog in November 2013 (ahhhh- so long ago!) so this year will mark SIX years of blogging! So much has changed, so much growth has happened, and my outlook has changed so much in this time. Each year I love to sit down and think about what worked, what didn’t work, and how I can continue to make this space one that you will love coming to each day. It’s always a balancing act with a full-time job and a full-time side hustle but I love it and am excited to see what growth 2019 will bring Girl Meets Bow! So without further delay… here are my 2019 Blog Resolutions!

ONE: Quality over Quantity

I feel like “quality over quantity” is such an overused phrase these days, but it really does describe my heartbeat for Girl Meets Bow this year. Last year I put so much pressure on myself to pump out a certain number of posts each week that sometimes I posted when I had nothing to say & frankly I got burned out! It has always been my heart that GMB would be a positive and happy place that would leave you with a smile on your face and in 2019 I want to focus on content that does just that! While I strive to have a M/W/F post schedule, if life happens and I need to adjust I want to give myself grace to do that, because when I take the time to write quality content I am 1000 times happier & I can see from analytics that y’all love it so much more too! So this year, make sure to grab your coffee before heading over here, because you’ve got some really quality content coming your way!

TWO: Complete (1) Sponsored Post Per Month

As much as the blog started as a hobby of mine, in the past year or so it has definitely become a more serious business/side-hustle and if I want to continue to grow and have the resources to deliver better & more creative content- I need to value my time/creativity enough to get paid for it. Please know that I don’t take it lightly that you trust my recommendations and I am humbled when you try products and brands that I love and share on the blog. I would never take a sponsored post just for a paycheck- that’s not my style and won’t ever be! In fact, I’ve turned down many opportunities that don’t align with my brand or I don’t think you will like. But I do want to be better about negotiating for payment for my content and believing in myself enough to know that I am worth it!

THREE: Reach out to (1) of my “Dream” Companies Per Month

I’ve kept a list on my phone over the past few years of companies that I can only dream of working with one day. Well I realized that no one can make your dreams come true if you don’t have the courage to believe in yourself and go after them! So I’m challenging myself this year to push aside the intimidation I feel and pitch myself to one of this dream companies each month. This may not be easy for me- sure does take a lot of confidence- but I know it will be worth it … and who knows who might say yes?!

FOUR: Focus on Building My Community in Tampa/St Pete

There is a growing blog community here in Tampa and St Pete and over the past year I’ve gotten to know so many amazing ladies who blog here! I would love to continue to build those relationships as well as create new connections with businesses, shops, and restaurants. I truly love living in the Bay Area and think it’s one of the best gems in Florida, so I would love to be able to share more of what’s happening here with y’all! You’ll notice I now have a “Tampa/St Pete” category in my Travel drop-down menu- be prepared for some great new content headed your way!

FIVE: Only Reinvest/Shop with What I Make From the Blog

OK, I definitely saved the hardest resolution for my last one!!! I have found myself SO guilty in the past year of saying “of this would be great for the blog” and then buying clothing I totally don’t need or only wear 1x. Friends, this girl is serious about buying a house and I do NOT have time to be blowing my money on what still is a “side-hustle!” So my goal in 2019 is to only reinvest/shop with the money I make from affiliate links & sponsorships on the blog. This will help me to majorly keep my shopping in line and allow me to really start saving for that house I’m dreaming of buying 🙂

Such a cute outfit – I love how well the pink knit matches the scarf! 🙂 You layer so well too.
