Honest Try-On from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale + The One Thing I Bought!

Sharing an honest Nordstrom Anniversary Sale try-on and the ONE thing I bought!

Happy Weekend! Typically I don’t post on Saturdays, but after polling y’all on Instagram last night about 80% of you said that “YES” you wanted to see this post and I got tons of DM’s letting me know that you were craving an honest review of items from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale… so here we are! πŸ™‚

Before we dive in I can’t thank you enough for your positive response to my post this week in which I shared my conflicted feelings around the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I’ll be honest, a big part of me thought that maybe I was alone in my feelings and I was the odd one out- so hearing from SO many of you that you are on the same page was such a positive reinforcement and helped me in my commitment to saving my pennies and sticking to my budget!

So, as promised, today I’m sharing the items I tried on (my store didn’t have the best selection but there are definitely a few things I’d recommend if they fit your budget/what you’re looking for) AND being transparent around the ONE item I bought from the sale. Can you guess what it is?? I’ll share at the end of this post πŸ™‚

First things first, let’s hit the dressing rooms of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!

NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE TRY-ON (EARLY ACCESS)

Leith Wrap Top (size Small, $34.90)- I thought that this was a great little top that could easily be dressed up for work (with high-waisted pants- it’s a little cropped) or dressed down on the weekend with cut-offs. I did find the pink to run slightly bigger than the printed version, but overall if you need a work top that’s affordable I would recommend!

STS Distressed Jeans (size 27, $38.90)- So funny story, a fellow blogger recommended these so I ordered them b/c I was afraid they’d sell out! When I got to the store and tried them on I realized that I bought a size too big AND that I didn’t really like them- ugh! They lack stretch, so even though the 27’s fit me, I’m returning them when they come in as I don’t think they would be comfortable to wear all day. I’d say “pass” on these!

Leith Wrap Top (size Small, $34.90)- This is the printed version of the pink top and I do really love the print! This is such a great work top and I think in the print it’s even better/more appropriate! For under $35 I do think that this is a great work staple!

Thread & Supply Pullover (size Small, $49.90)- “Wubby” pullovers were all the rage last year so when I saw one included this year I needed to try it for myself. I have to admit- it’s pretty cozy and comfy! If I wasn’t already obsessed with my gray Amazon pullover I would definitely consider this one because it’s so good for casual/run around days but still looks cute!

Spanx Faux Leather Leggings (size Medium, $64.90)- I’m pretty sure I’m the last person in America who doesn’t own these. I also have to admit for the second time that these are pretty dang good leggings πŸ™‚ if I didn’t have two pairs of faux leather leggings from Old Navy that I love- this would again be a serious contender to come home with me! Love how comfy they are but how pulled together they look!

Socialite Tee (size Medium, need a Small, $15.90)- this tee y’all- Winner!! I only didn’t buy it because they were sold out of my size in store, but for under $16 this is such a cute, comfy, unique spin on leopard! It’s got a great length if you want to wear with a legging and also loos cute half tucked. Love this option!!

BP Jogger Pants (size Small, $35.90)- EDIT: found them online! // I cannot find these darn pants online, but I’ll be honest, I don’t recommend! They were so cute, but too long on me & too baggy in the bottom area (ha!) so they weren’t the most flattering! If you’re taller they might be a great find for you!

Zella Leggings (size Medium, $38.90)- Another piece that I just needed to try this year after hearing all the hype around it! Well I think the quality of these leggings are really good, they were way too long on me! I can’t figure out how other girls who are my height or shorter wear them all the time because they were bunching at the knee! Great buy if you’re taller and love althleisure style.

SALE ITEM TRY-ON (CLEARANCE)

Leith Ruched Dress (size Medium)- These dresses are great – I own two long sleeve versions and the tank version is another winner as well! I probably should have sized down to a small (it’s a little big in the bust) but this is such a great layering piece.

DENIM TRY-ON (FULL PRICE)

After I tried on my sale finds I wandered over to the denim section (the hardest thing for me to find!) and low & behold I found three fabulous pairs of jeans!! If you have some curves like me I 100% recommend all three pairs and even though they are a little bit more, with how much you’ll wear them they are so worth it!

Madewell Crop Flare Jeans (size 27)- I have been dying for a pair of crop flare jeans, I have tried on so many pairs with no luck! They all fit wrong… Until I found this pair! A friend recommended I try Madewell, and although they are a little pricier for me, they were totally worth the money because of how much I will wear them! While they are not in the sale, I have some saved Nordstrom Notes so these came home with me in addition to my sale purchase πŸ™‚

J. Crew Anchor Tee (size Small)- I needed to grab a tee to try on with my denim finds and of course I saw the orange, blue, and nautical (Go Gators!) and grabbed this as soon as I could! It is so cute and comfy- I’ve been on a major graphic tee kick and I am obsessed!

Note: This tee is currently 50% with code “STAYCOOL” at J.Crew so if you want to snag it at a discount I would grab it from there πŸ˜‰

Madewell 10″ Button Fly Jeans (size 27)- When you find a great brand of jeans why stop at trying on one? I also wanted to test out there skinny jeans styles and this pair was also a big win! I love the detail of the button fly and they fit great throughout the waist and legs. Highly recommend if you need new skinny jeans!

Vintage Wash Wit + Wisdom Jeans (size 4)- This is my favorite brand of jeans! While there are several pairs included in the sale, I loved this wash when I saw it and it didn’t disappoint on! I’ve added this to my wishlist for sure πŸ™‚

THE ONE THING I BOUGHT FROM THE NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE… So funny enough, the one thing I bought from the sale wasn’t in store so I had to order it online! My go-to absolute FAVORITE pair of jeans are these and I can’t say enough good things about them! When they go on sale for $44 I do consider that a great deal (especially for how much I wear them) so I am super excited for these!! 100% recommend these if you are in the market for denim!
