Hey y’all! Welcome to our latest installment of “Wedding Wednesday.” Boy do we have a lot to chat about today!
When I first got engaged (a whole 4 weeks ago) I really thought that I could do this whole wedding planning thing on my own! After dreaming about this day for so long, I basically lived in a fantasy world where I just said “oh I want this at this price” and voila! The wedding came together!
Well, let’s just say I quickly learned that (at least for me) that wasn’t reality! Rob & I sat down about a week after getting engaged to start planning and y’all I basically had a nervous breakdown! 😂 There are so many moving parts to a wedding, and the variables and factors are enough to make your head spin! (“If I Book this venue, and it includes X but not Y is that more cost effective than this venue which is pricier but includes both?!”) It was like a really hard math problem! Ha. Working to plan a 200 guest wedding in 6 months added a whole new challenge to the mix!
That’s when I realized that if I (& we!) wanted to enjoy the wedding planning process we had to bring someone onto our team (#TeamBlackwood) to help us navigate this crazy world of wedding planning! After interviewing several planners/companies we brought on Kiera, a planner with Coastal Coordinating, and we couldn’t be happier about our decision! Kiera has taken SO much stress off our plate by doing the legwork of reaching out to our potential vendors, getting the facts & details, and then presenting options to us. She helped us create our budget, understand what we could then do within each line item within the budget, and reads between the lines to make sure we are getting what we need! I jokingly say she’s my new best friend! (But really!) I’m so thankful we decided to bring her on- definitely the right choice for us!
