Happy Valentine’s Day sweet friends!! I know that there are typically two camps when it comes to Valentine’s Day: people who LOVE it & people who can’t stand it! I think it comes as no surprise that I am firmly in camp “I love Valentine’s Day!” Ha. So today is a fun day for me because it’s all about celebrating love, those that mean a lot to us, and all things pink and red!
While I am so excited to celebrate my first Valentine’s Day with Rob (we met in March of last year!) I was thinking that there are so many different ways to “share the love” today with so many different people who matter in our lives. Y’all know I’m all about sharing the happy & kindness, so today is a perfect chance to celebrate all the people who matter to us! I’m putting together a list of five easy ways to spread the love today… how are you going to celebrate??
ONE: Text your girlfriends and tell them how much they mean to you!
I know yesterday was “Galentine’s Day” (so fun!) but it’s never a bad idea to tell your girls that they are the best! 🙂 For the many years I was single, my girls were my rocks, cheerleaders, biggest supporters, and basically my favorite people!! I plan on texting my gals this morning and letting them know how special they are!
TWO: Bring in a sweet surprise for your co-workers!
There’s no one who doesn’t like a cookie, cupcake, or sweet treat (am I right??) We work with our co-workers every day- and often see them more than our families, so let them know they rock with a sweet treat to say “you matter!”
THREE: Tip a little extra at dinner tonight!
A lot of us will be heading out to dinner tonight (we will!) and waitstaff and servers are giving us their own celebrations to help us have great ones. If you’re able- add an extra few percentage points to your tip- I promise it will put an extra pep in their step 🙂
FOUR: Write a card to let your significant other know how much they matter to you!
This is one of my favorite ways to “spread the love” and its a great way to do something that doesn’t expire! Words really do matter, and taking the time to write out your feelings goes a long way and is a keepsake that your s/o won’t soon get rid of. I wrote a card to Rob when we first started dating and he still keeps it in his nightstand 🙂 It’s my favorite way to share how I feel!
FIVE: Just be happy today!
This may sound silly, but it’s true that happiness is contagious- so if you are smiling, happy, & kind today that will radiate to those around you! Holidays are always hard for some people (for one reason or another) – so you never know who really needs those smiles and that happy vibe to brighten their day!
Alright ya’ll- that was fun to share (I’m already in a better mood!) 🙂 How are you celebrating today and how are you sharing the love?? Share your thoughts in the comments below and have a happy Valentine’s Day!!!
