Wedding Wednesday: Our Wedding Inspiration!

I am so excited about our newest edition of “Wedding Wednesday” today- because I’m spilling the beans on something so special, our May wedding inspiration!! As I shared recently, we decided to postpone our original wedding to August due to the CoronaVirus, but are so excited to still be tying the knot this month! When we decided to postpone our original wedding one thing that was really important to us was making our May wedding and our August weddings very different and very special in their own way. So when we began to put this wedding together (in about a month!) we wanted it to look & feel completely different from what we’d been planning already. And I think we nailed it!

One thing kept coming to mind when we thought about our May wedding: simple and southern. Our reason for moving forward with our original wedding date is that the marriage means so much more to us than the wedding (although we are so excited for that!) We love what marriage symbolizes- two imperfect people coming together and being a reflection of God’s love for an imperfect church. We are thrilled to start our lives together- as husband and wife- and believe that May is the month we are supposed to do so 🙂 So we loved this idea of a “sweet and southern” wedding, where the focus of the day would be on our closest friends and family who are there with us, and the marriage we are entering into.

So I am thrilled to share our May wedding inspiration with you!! Let’s get to the pretty 🙂

One thing I knew for sure I wanted at this wedding was a cross to get married in front of. I loved that this would center our wedding and keep our eyes on Jesus and hopefully reflect that throughout our ceremony!

Magnolias are going to be a prominent flower throughout our May Day and I love how they were incorporated on to this cake! I can’t wait to see (& eat!) ours!!

I also plan to incorporate magnolias into my bouquet. We have a super talented friend who has offered her floral services to help us bring our floral vision to life- so grateful!

This inspo image might be a tad bohemian for what we’re going for- but I LOVE the vintage rug dance floor & Edison bulb lights! I can’t wait to show you what we’re putting together for ours!

I think this is the coolest idea!! I love bringing in nature by displaying photos throughout the trees. It’s going to be fun to show you what this inspired for us!

Of course this day wouldn’t be possible without the VILLAGE of support we have behind us! Our dear friends Emily & Joel are allowing us to get married on their property and are literally helping us with every detail of the wedding. Emily has spent the past two days painting and DIY-ing so many pieces of decor for us. It’s hard to put into words how grateful we are! I’m so excited to share every detail with y’all and show you how it all comes together in just 17 days!!

Happy Wednesday friends!
