28 Week Bumpdate

Hey y’all- Happy Monday! I hope everyone had the sweetest holiday celebrations! Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, I really hope you were able to relax and enjoy the time with family and/or friends- even if this year looked a lot different than in year’s past! Rob and I had a whirlwind 48 hours celebrating with our immediate family, and can hardly believe that next year we will be hosting with a sweet 9 month old. Seriously blows my mind!! 🙂

Another thing blowing my mind? It’s time for a new bump date!! My last one was almost 2 months ago- and there is so much to update y’all on, so let’s get to it!

How Far along are you? 28 Weeks – officially in my 3rd Trimester!! I cannot even believe how fast the weeks are flying by! It literally seems like yesterday that I took that first positive pregnancy test, and now we are about 12 weeks from meeting our girl! Eliza Ann, you are so so very loved 🙂

Best Pregnancy “Symptoms?” Eliza’s movements get stronger every day- and I couldn’t love it any more!! I’ve started to be able to feel her elbows/feet pushing against my stomach and yesterday I got my first kick in the ribs! It is so crazy to think about her little body in there just growing away (she’s about 2 lbs now) and to be able to feel her so vividly all day long. Anytime I start to feel self-conscious about pregnancy weight she always kicks at exactly that moment, and it’s like a little “God wink” and reminder that my body is doing exactly as it should for our girl. So thankful for that every time!

Overall I still feel really good, have my energy, and have been taking my daily 2 mile walks. Thankful to be healthy and for our girl to be healthy too!

Worst Pregnancy “Symptoms?” Definitely a few symptoms starting to creep in- and not all of them pleasant! I’ve been getting really terrible backaches- one of them is always in the same spot on my right and it is SO painful! Not much helps to relieve it, but thankfully only a few more weeks until hopefully it’s gone. Other symptoms include heartburn (especially when I eat spicy food- which I love so much), constipation (so not glamorous, but a common side effect of pregnancy, ha), and continued swelling in my hands and feet. Overall, I truly cannot complain!

Current Cravings? My #1 craving is still buffalo chicken… all the time! I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner – and unfortunately the spice doesn’t help my heartburn! Ha.

Purchases for Baby Girl? Honestly we still haven’t purchased too much for baby girl- we plan on waiting to see what we get after our baby shower and then have a game plan to fill in all the gaps 🙂 But, I thought it would be fun to show you some of the adorable outfits I’ve been finding for her and are on my wishlist. FYI: I do have a full post coming with what’s on our registry – should be live next week!

What am I Doing for My Baby Shower? This question came in during my Q&A, and y’all know I’m an open book so I’m happy to share! {But, I will say that with COVID still ever-present this was a carefully considered decision and while I know my choice may not be everyone’s, I do hope that you respect my decision during such a special time 🙂}

I will be having a traditional baby shower in mid-January and I truly cannot wait to celebrate Eliza with my closest friends and family. I’m so thankful to my girls for taking on the planning & hosting of the day and to those who are more comfortable celebrating with us from afar! We will be doing all we can to stay safe on the day, but these are girls that I am with/around regularly so I feel very comfortable being with them on the day. We are so thankful for so much love for Miss Eliza!

    Could you be any cuter?! I enjoyed this update. Seems like things are going well! Also, LOVE that you’ve already named her and are using it when speaking about her. So many people keep the name a secret, but I personally love hearing parents use their babies names all along!

      Thanks Kristen! We loved her name so much, that it just felt right to share it! It also makes us so connected with her to use her name and to hear our friends and family talking about her 🙂

    Wow, 28 weeks! You’re getting closer! Feeling those baby kicks and movements is the best for sure. All the aches and pains are no fun though, so I hope you feel better soon! I hope you have fun at your shower!

      Thank you Shea! The good totally outweighs the rough symptoms- and it will all be worth it when we get to hold her in our arms 🙂
