As football season draws to a close (none too soon for my beloved Gators who had a very rough season!) It seemed like the perfect time to share our roadtrip to Gainesville to cheer on our boys for Homecoming! Rob & I have season tickets to Gator games, but learned quickly that life with a baby meant a lot less football games then we were used to! Thankfully Grandma & Grandpa stepped in a watched Eliza for the day so mom & dad could have a little day date to The Swamp!
Both Rob & I attended the University of Florida- he was 2 years ahead of me- but we actually didn’t meet until years later through mutual friends! However, we dearly love our orange and blue alma mater and it works out perfectly that we love to go back and are big fans of our school!

Of course for a trip to Gainesville I wanted to be cute (although I can’t compete with the college gals in crop tops anymore!!) so I grabbed one of my favorite Stewart Simmons tees and paired it with preppy striped shorts. Mama may not be able to hang like she used to but she likes to think she’s still got it a little bit! 🙂 Stewart Simmons always outfits me with the BEST Gator gear and they cover some of the top colleges with licensed pieces. Everything they have is so on trend and of course, SO CUTE!

We had to stop and take a few pictures by some of our favorite places in the Swamp! The Bull Gator always has a line of fans waiting to snap a new profile pic! And even in a blah season for our boys, the crowds are busy and there is such a great energy in the air!

Every single game you can find the “Work ‘Em Silly” sign strung up in the same spot. I believe one of the fraternity’s is responsible for bringing it each game!

One of my very favorite parts of a Gator game is that after third quarter – no matter the score or if you are home or away – every Gator fan links arms and sings “We are the Boys.” It is so cool to see strangers linking up and singing a song we love so much! Now, an additional tradition is that afterwards they play Tom Petty’s “Won’t Back Down!” (He was from Gainesville so this started after he passed away. SO cool and worth staying until the end of the 3rd quarter for!

We had the best time getting away for a few how’s and cheering on the Gators to one of their (few) victories this season! Thank you to Stewart Simmons for keeping me in style throughout game day!
Thanks for stopping by y’all! || Genry
