Walmart Denim Jeans Review

When my girlfriends and I get together we love to catch up and talk about ALL the things- our babies, our husbands, and of course our favorite finds! Two of my best girlfriends and I were actually pregnant at the same time, so we are all navigating postpartum (yep 2 years later) and our every changing bodies. Well, the other day I was bemoaning the fact that my jeans just don’t fit quite right any more and my struggle to find some good denim for my “new” body when my BFF Emily started raving about the Walmart denim she had recently bought. It sparked the idea for me to undertake a Walmart Denim Jeans Review!

At first it sounded too good to be true: cute denim under $20 that actually fits a mom’s body?? But then I decided that I needed to try it out for myself- and better yet, share my honest review with all of y’all! So I placed my Walmart order and am sharing the three pairs of Time and Tru Midrise Straight Leg Jeans with y’all! Let’s breakdown my Walmart Denim Jeans Review shall we??

Time and Tru Denim Pair #1: Light Wash

This lightwash pair of denim is probably my favorite of the three, simply because I don’t have this wash in my closet already and if feels so fresh (and dare I say, trendy??) for me! I really like that there’s a bit of subtle distressing in the wash, and while I paired it with a casual top, couldn’t you also see these jeans with a tee + blazer and even some heels for a date night or casual work look? I think that would be so fun!

Time and Tru Denim Pair #2: Medium Wash

I consider this pair the perfect “everyday” wash- not too light, not too dark- it’s the goldilocks of denim! While the overall wash is definitely a midtown denim, there is a lighter rinse on the front which I think makes it a little more casual and allows a greater variety of colors you can pair back to it- I even think it’s fun with the blue that I paired it it’s here!

Time and Tru Denim Pair #3: Dark Wash

Finally, I tried a great dark wash denim that’s perfect for dressing up (either for work or a social engagement!) This pair is a really clean, classic denim with no distressing and is that tried and true pair you can keep in your closet and know it always looks good!

OVERALL THOUGHTS: I was truly impressed by the Walmart Denim that I tried out! The stretch in these jeans is incredible (I can do squats, bend, kick… all the things) and yet they still make me feel pulled in and flattered. The price point of under $20 cannot be beat, and while I still plan to treat myself to a designer pair of denim when I hit some of my health goals, for now these jeans were exactly what I needed to make me feel good and still allow me to “mom” in them. I definitely think it’s worth giving some Time and Tru denim a try.

SIZING NOTES: I am wearing a size 8 in these Time and Tru jeans. I’m currently between a 6 and 8 so I’d recommend sizing up for comfort if you are also between sizes. The inseam is 29” which is actually my inseam (I’m 5’4), so I did cuff each pair as I like wearing my jeans with tennis shoes or wedges no I like so show a little ankle! I don’t have the guts to try cutting these myself but they could look super cute with a raw hem!
