Changing Priorities

I’ve had the post rolling around in my head and my heart for awhile, but it’s been hard for me to sit down and get it on paper (or the blog I guess!). I’m someone who doesn’t like to talk about a problem (or thoughts) without having a solution or a concrete answer. But today I’m going to try and break my own rules and just share the thoughts in my head and my heart!

This blog has been my outlet, my safe space, my journal, and my dose of happy since 2014- 6 years! I’ve loved building this community, sharing my heart and my life, and recently sharing my journey of falling in love, getting married, and now expecting our sweet girl! But the past few month have been unlike any other (not just because of COVID), my life has completely changed. I went from being single (just 19 months ago!) to becoming a wife and now a mom to be- those are a lot of wonderful but HUGE life changes!

And I say all that to say, I’m now sure how I want these changes to reflect on the blog?? Lately I’ve been feeling almost a drain in my spirit from just doing standard “fashion” posts- it’s like there is so much happening in life that it almost feels so small to talk about a new dress in comparison? But then I struggle with feeling overwhelmed tackling the bigger topics- like impending motherhood, newlywed life, and all of the emotions and feelings that have come with those many changes. It’s quite the push and pull in my heart these days!

So I guess I say all this to say… stay tuned?! I’m working out a lot of feelings right now and am praying over how to shift this space into whatever the Lord wants it to be go forward. And I hope you will continue to stick around and enjoy whatever comes next!

That is why I didn’t want to limit myself to just fashion on the blog and have a broader subject manner, fashion travel and mommyhood. Sometimes I have more to share in one area than another (hello lots less travels this year) but I find that I am not limited to one thing I can share more of who I am. I think we shall follow you wherever you will go so pray about it and we look forward to your next step or shift.

Thank you for sharing what’s in your head and in your heart. I know you will find your way. On my end, I can relate to what you said. The reason I post so little is because it’s hard for me to just post about fashion. It’s fun to do once in awhile and plus, they are easy to write but in my heart I want to offer more or at least bring value to my posts even if it means posting so little. Anyway, that’s all to say follow your heart and one day at a time!

I think it’s great to just continue to be honest and let this space be what works best in your life! It’s totally natural for your priorities and focus to shift now that you’re married and starting a family–this space will grow with you, and whatever you choose to do will be great! I do love your cute outfits (this dress is so pretty!) but I look forward to other things you might bring to this space as well!
