What We’ve Registered for So Far

Good Morning friends! Over the past few months Rob and I have been researching any and all things baby- it’s been like a second college education! ha. Luckily Rob LOVES to research, so he has been a champ in reading 15+ review sites for every product category to help us make the best, or at least most informed decisions, that we can. It’s funny, I definitely thought that having a girl I would register for alllll the pink things, but I realized that since we hope to have baby #2 it made more sense to register for neutrals and then make sure her wardrobe and decor details are the pinkest, ruffliest, girliest things ever! 🙂

I got a lot of requests to share what we registered for, so today I’m sharing some of our “bigger ticket” items- or the things that we spent hours, upon hours, researching! Obviously I haven’t used these yet, but I hope that our research can help you if you are a new mama looking for ideas and options for your registry! Here are some of our most debated items and why we chose the items we did:

Peg Perego Carseat– I’m sure it comes as no surprise, but safety was our #1 concern when looking at carseats. We know that every carseat has to pass the same basic testing to be certified safe/approved, but thinking about our precious little one in there we wanted a seat that went above and beyond in safety measures. Ultimately this is what led us to the Peg Perego! There is an interior “cushion” (for lack of a better word- its a foam layer) that goes completely around the seat. In comparison, the next best safety carseat (Uppababy Mesa) only has that foam cushion 1/2 way around the inside. There is also a steel bar that comes out of the base to stabilize the carseat against your floorboard giving it extra security were it be in a collision and there is a front bumper (again, sorry for the layman terms!)  that protects your baby from front-impact as well. All these features were selling points for us when it came to safety so this was our #1 pick!

Uppababy Vista V2 Stroller– Oh how we debated strolled forever !!! I’m definitely fashion, Rob is totally function, and with the Uppababy Vista we feel like we are getting the best of both worlds. What I loved about this stroller is that it is multi-functional and grows with your baby and your family. First, we loved that your carseat snaps right into the stroller so when baby is super little (or sleeping!) you don’t have to transfer them from the carseat to stroller- the seat just hooks right in. (Note, you do have to buy adaptors for brands outside of Uppababy- we got these for the Peg Carseat). Next, as baby gets a little bigger you can use the bassinet attachment to stroll with your little one in the bassinet. A huge bonus is that the bassinet is approved for sleep- so you can actually use it in your home as thier initial bassinet if you want to! Finally, there is the rumble seat (a more traditional stroller seat) that they can move into that you can have either front or rear facing. Other features that sold us: this stroller becomes a double! Simply purchase an additional rumble seat and it works with the carseat, bassinet, or 2nd rumble to hold two kids! The ample storage basket was also a huge selling point for me!! We cannot wait to start using this so soon!

Nanit Baby Monitor– Probably the purchase we spent the most time one- I’m talking YouTube videos, 20+ review sites, and endless talks about- but so worth it because we are thrilled with the monitor we picked! The Nanit is really so much more than a monitor: it has two way audio, high quality clear video of baby, and integrated phone app, AND monitors breathing and sleep patterns of your baby. I had thought a lot of about getting the Owlet sock, but with the Nanit’s breathing and sleep tracking you don’t need both- all the functionality is built into one monitoring system. You simply get the Nanit swaddle, and then the monitor tracks the dots on the swaddle to make sure baby is breathing correctly and will alert you if anything is abnormal. It also tracks sleep patterns to help you sleep train your little one. We are so thrilled to start using this when she is here!

Babyletto Crib– Who knew there were so many options when it came to cribs? After a ton of research (again) this crib rose to the top of pretty much every review we read. It has a simple modern design that works for all babies and does convert into a toddler bed. It’s also a really affordable price point- so that’s a great selling point too! (not much in the world of babies is!)

Bag Nation Backpack Diaper Bag– Oh y’all, I totally had my girly, tote diaper bag all picked out and was SO excited for it! But then I asked my mama friends… and every single one of them said a backpack was the way to go! The hands-free aspect is essential with a little one and they came recommended as so much easier to tote around! The one we registered for comes with a changing pad, 10zillion pockets, and an insulated pocket for bottles as well as a pocket that you can feed your wipes through to make them easy to reach. I love all the organization and know that in this case, function over fashion is probably the right decision! ha.

Note: I do plan on getting ours monogrammed for little miss Eliza… got to keep it (a little) girly!

Ubbi Diaper Pail– This diaper pail came recommened as one of the only ones that actually blocks out stink! Considering the amount of diapers we have in our future, that was pretty much the only thing I needed to know before clicking “add to registry!”
