6 Simple Things That Make Me Happy in the Morning

Isn’t it funny how sometimes posts just pop up and come together out of nowhere? I had been thinking the other day that that I needed to stop and be thankful for the “little things” that bring me a sense of happy, and then I thought it would be great to share it with y’all as well! (sometimes we can all use a positive reminder!) But then as I was coming up with simple things that make me happy- I realized they were all part of my morning routine. My mornings really are my favorite part of my day so I guess it makes perfect sense 🙂

Most of y’all don’t know this, but I get up at 4:30 am to get my day started (!) although I usually press snooze once or twice! Then I hop in the shower and then I have the most glorious thing of all- an hour of “me” time to just start my day on the right foot before all the crazy kicks in! Here is what my happy little hour consists of:

My first cup of coffee – Is there anything better than when that first sip of caffeinated heaven touches your lips?!

Reading the daily bible – It was a New Year’s Resolution of mine to read through the Bible in a year and I am right on track to complete this. I start my day with a passage and it is just the encouragement I need! (For those curious I use this bible)

Catching up with my favorite bloggers – I spend the rest of my time reading my favorite blogs, commenting, and catching up with all my “e-friends”

Buddy snuggles – Buddy loves to snuggle up and he snoozes beside me all morning while I sip all the coffee and do all the things!

My second cup of coffee 🙂 – You didn’t think a girl getting up at 4:30 am would settle for only one cup of coffee did you?! 😉

A long walk – I take Buddy for a 1-2 mile walk in the mornings and it’s another favorite thing of mine. Buddy is so happy exploring, chasing rabbits and seeing his friends, and I love the exercise and calorie burn to start my day.

I am right there with you on the coffee. And yes, like you – if I make a ‘double’ I am positively enthusiastic about the day! Your Buddy sounds like an instant mood lifter – so cure cuddling into you in the morning. And isn’t their enthusiasm for life and the outdoors contagious? Humph is super bouncy (which has it’s negatives sometimes) but mostly this just makes you smile all the time – no matter what type of day is ahead. Up there with coffee and dogs has to be – having a freshly painted set of nails and a good hair day. I painted mine coral last night and it just made me happy looking at them today and knowing I didn’t have to rush and do them in the morning. Little things are the best – peppered across the day ideally 🙂 Have a wonderful day – your friends photo from Las Vegas was toooo cute – all that pink! BTW LB2 – I share your excitement. I was a young lobbyist at the time of LBI and she was also my spirit animal 🙂

  6. Your morning looks exactly like mine! I would rather wake up possibly an hour earlier just to have time to leisurely sip my coffee and read my bible and blogs each morning. And puppy cuddles are the BEST!

    Keep up the good blogging!

  8. If your morning is productive, it sets you up for a great day! I love getting things done in the morning, because even if it doesn’t go perfectly-you still got a lot done! I think reading your Bible first thing is such a great way to set the tone for a good day!
