I don’t know about you, but when you hear the words “mom uniform” don’t you automatically think of a messy bun, tank & leggings? What started as a half-joke has now become this ingrained idea of what we think all moms wear and look like. While I definitely have my legging moments (I’m a Nike running shorts girl myself) I’ve found that in order to be the best mom to E I need to feel like a good version of me… and that girl ain’t a messy bun – legging girl! Ha! I’ve always said that I’m most myself when I’m wearing a dress, so today I wanted to introduce you to my version of a mom uniform!

To me, this look provides the best of all worlds! A colorful midi dress not only feels like Gentry, it’s practical for bending down, picking up and running after Eliza! Target dresses have become my best friend because they are always easy to wash and wear! The fabrications withstand messy hands, dirt, and lots of washes, And because of the affordable price point I don’t worry too much about them getting messy. Adding a pair of sneakers is not only trendy but it’s practical as well! With Eliza on the move I have to be able to grab her in a second! And we’re finally getting to an age where I only have to bring the diaper bag like 85% of the time, so I’ve been breaking out some fun totes and bags! This look is on repeat over here!

This dress is so adorable on you and I love that you paired it with sneakers! I never fell into that “mom uniform” trap either when my kids where still toddling. This fun look is absolutely more my mom style than leggings and hoodies…although I do like my leggings and hoodies sometimes, too. I just photographed such an outfit yesterday actually. Haha.
