Two Trends I'm Glad I Tried

Hi and Happy Tuesday- I cannot believe that it is the last day in May! They year definitely felt slow at first but all of a sudden it seems to be flying by and I’m just trying to keep up! We had a sweet long weekend with our little family celebrating our Anniversary and enjoying time with our new little walker! Eliza girl can’t stop, won’t stop now that she can walk, which is both exhausting and fun for mama 🙂 I’m sure y’all can relate!

I shot a bunch of new content for the blog this weekend (just wait until you see it all… I was SO inspired!) and as I was editing the pictures one of the things that stood out to me are a few “trends” that now I feel like I can’t live without! Thought it would be fun to share a bit more about them in todays post.

Trend 1: Midi Dresses

This is definitely something that started as a trend, but for me (and the dress industry really) has become a closet staple! Pre-kids I was also about a mini dress… but now that I have to chase my little walker arounds, midi dresses are perfect for that #momlife! I also love that they feel a little more “elevated” than a mini dress and are so feminine and sweet. Functional and fashionable? You know I’m all about it!

This racerback midi dress is my new Target staple dress of the season! The second I spotted it in this vibrant pink I knew it was a must in my closet- and it’s just $20! Since then I’ve collected the tan and black color ways… it really is THAT good! 🙂

Trend 2: Belt Bags

I was very skeptical when I first saw the belt bag trend emerging… I kind of hated it at first. But the more I saw it the more I started coming around to the idea… and then I realized how practical it was to be hands free but have everything you need right there with you! Now, I’m loving it! And I think this. bag is so fun paired with my hot pink dress.

I wanted to share a little more about BLOC bags. I recently got to know the company better when I learned about them at work, and I feel in love with their mission and instantly jumped online to buy one for myself! For every BLOC bag purchased, the company gives a bag of necessities to a foster child. Children taken out of their homes often have to leave with only the clothes on their backs and a trash bag full of what they can grab. Then they are put into the foster system and besides being away from home they don’t have any of their comforts. BLOC bags aims to help this by distributing their “Bags of Love” to Foster children. I think it’s an incredible cause and I loved knowing that my purchase was directly benefitting a child in need!
