One of my goals before Miss Eliza makes her debut is to finally share our “sequel” wedding day with y’all! There were so many special details that we waited for and it was so special finally having a day to celebrate with all our family and friends! (If you missed our original wedding you can catch up on this post!) As a reminder of our “very COVID” love story- we got married May 30th, 2020 in a small, backyard wedding due to the pandemic. We were so thankful to then host our “sequel” wedding on November 6th, 2020 with about 100 of our family and friends!
So today I thought it would be fun to kickoff with our ceremony details. Even though we were already married, we wanted to have a small ceremony portion of the wedding to reaffirm our commitment and allow those family & friends who weren’t at our first wedding to hear our commitment to each other and the Lord. Our pastor, Allen, a friend of Rob’s from divinity school who also married us originally, did an amazing job combining humor and faith in a beautiful way! (I mean it’s hard not to poke a little fun at the fact that I was 20 weeks pregnant at our sequel wedding :))
Oh, and if you’re wondering- YES I wore a different dress for this one! This is actually my original dress I had chosen, but when we pivoted to a backyard wedding it was too formal for that, so I got a new one for that day and saved my original dress! We also put Rob in the original suits we had picked (peep the Gator tie details) and I loved seeing my girls in their Lilly dresses!
Enjoy this look inside our special day!
